America, 2019
To escape the cacophony of partisan political fighting, and climb into some solitude, I got into the great expanses of the American West, the cold inside the wind, and listened ‘out here’ to the deeper, timeless wisdom of the land, the trees and rocks standing and weathering in the open without complaint.
I spent the winter of 2019 driving some of the most remote and least populated counties of the plains and high deserts east of the Rocky Mountains. These are the images I came back with.
